Flash Galaxy Wonder to Stock ROM

I'm gonna tell you step by step how to Flash Galaxy Wonder to Stock ROM. This method uses Odin downloader tool instead of Kies which is useful for downgrading, upgrading and reverting your device back to its original stock or official firmware. 

Grab the files needed for flashing Galaxy Wonder to Stock ROM

* Odin Multi Downloader v4.43 + Ancora Ops 
* Stock ROMs for Samsung Galaxy W GT-I8150 
(choose the right firmware that match with your device product code)
* Samsung driver 

Procedure of Flashing Galaxy Wonder to Stock ROM

1. Run Odin Multi Downloader v4.43

2. Load the OPS file

- click on Ops button then select and load the Ancora.ops.

  Always mark these option: Protect OPS, Auto-Reboot and F-Reset time.

3. Load md5 files (Stock ROM file) with the One Package button.

For example: I8150XXKK1_I8150OXXKJ6_I8150XXKK1_HOME.tar.md5

4. Set Galaxy Wonder I8150 into "Download Mode" 

-  Before connecting galaxy wonder to PC USB you need to put galaxy wonder into download mode state, so that Odin will recognize it. To set galaxy wonder into download mode, turn the 'POWER OFF' then gently press and hold the Volume Down, Home and Power Button at the same time. 

Then there's confirmation message appears like the picture below,  then just press "Volume Up to continue".

5. Connect galaxy wonder to PC or laptop 

- Once galaxy wonder displays "Downloading... Do Not Turn Off  Target", it's now time to connect galaxy wonder to PC. In Odin the COM: Mapping box will turn color  to yellow and it says "added! or detected!!" in the log box when galaxy wonder is properly connected and Odin recognizes your galaxy wonder.

6. Click the "START" button 

- Once all of the above was set and went smoothly begin flashing Galaxy Wonder to Stock ROM. Wait until the firmware installation finishes. You will be notified with a word "PASS!" in Odin if the Flashing Galaxy Wonder to Stock ROM process successfully completes. Let your galaxy wonder reboot for a while, then it's time to unplug it from PC.

If the flashing Galaxy Wonder to Stock ROM fails don't panic. Switch to a different port of your PC and then repeat the process of Flashing Galaxy Wonder to Stock ROM again.

• Type 'no' to reboot to Fastboot Mode
• Your device will restart. Once it goes into Fastboot Mode the process will start automatically. Pay attention to Galaxy Nexus Toolkit to see the process. When the toolkit goes back to main menu, that means the process has finished.
• Now in the phone Menu you will notice new app named 'Superuser' [Picture Above] DON'T Uninstall it. It gives permissions to any app which requests root access. If any app request root access, select 'allow'.

USER GUIDE for Galaxy Nexus TooLKit
You need to set your Samsung Galaxy Nexus to USB Debugging enabled to use Galaxy Nexus TooLKit.  Set it in setting,developer options, and then tick USB Debugging. On Android 4.2.2, "Developer Options" is hidden. You need to tap the Build Number 7 times in Setting/About until it says "you're now developer."

NOTE: As the ToolKit.exe and ModsSection.exe files are not Digitally Signed with a Microsoft Certificate they 'may' get picked up as potentially harmful by Antivirus Programs and deleted on first run. If this happens restore the file and exclude it from future scans to use it. This seems to happen mostly on AVG Free and Norton.

Installation of Galaxy Nexus TooLKit:

• Run Galaxy Nexus ToolKit  package to install Galaxy Nexus TooLKit to your PC. The installation of Galaxy Nexus TooLKit will also create a Shortcut on your desktop called 'Galaxy Nexus ToolKit' for easy access. You now have the option to include or exclude the drivers files at installation so if you already have your drivers set up and are just updating the Galaxy Nexus TooLKit then you can untick the drivers if you wish.

1. INSTALLING ADB/FASTBOOT DRIVERS using Galaxy Nexus TooLKit

The first thing you need to do is to install the adb/fastboot drivers. These are needed so that the phone is detected on the computer. 

THE DRIVERS CAN NOW BE INSTALLED DIRECTLY VIA THE GALAXY NEXUS TOOLKIT.  OPTION 1 IN THE MAIN MENU. 

After the drivers have been installed, connect the usb cable. In the Device Manager a new item called 'Android 1.0' should pop up and adb driver should install automatically. Once it is installed you will have a new section in the Device Manager called Android Phone without an "!" meaning its installed correctly. 

Note: If the adb driver doesnt install automatically then double click on the Android 1.0 item in device manager, then click on the driver tab and select 'update driver'. Select 'browse my computer' and then 'Let me pick from a list'. If no items appear in the list then untick 'Show compatible hardware' and find the Android adb driver or Samsung adb driver.

To install fastboot driver using Galaxy Nexus TooLKit, shut down your Galaxy Nexus. Keep holding the 'Volume Up' and 'Volume Down' buttons and press the 'Power' button to boot galaxy nexus into Fast Boot Mode. In Device Manager you will see the FastBoot driver installed or if it's not you can install it manually.

MAKE SURE YOU ENABLE USB DEBUGGING IN SETTINGS/DEVELOPER OPTIONS BEFORE CONNECTING THE USB CABLE IN ADB MODE SO THAT THE PC CAN DETECT THE PHONE PROPERLY. FOR ANDROID 4.2 YOU NEED TO ENABLE DEVELOPER OPTIONS FIRST BY TAPPING THE BUILD NUMBER SEVERAL TIMES IN "SETTING/ABOUT" UNTIL DEVELOPER OPTIONS SHOWS UP UNDER SETTING.

2. USING GALAXY NEXUS TOOLKIT

• The first screen will ask you which model and Build you have (GSM or LTE) and set up the Main Menu accordingly.
• When you enter the Main Menu you will see 'Fastboot Mode' and 'Adb Mode' at the top. If you have installed your drivers correctly then you will see your phones serial number under the mode you are in at the time (adb mode or fast boot mode). If you see this then your device is connected and you can carry on.
• Each option has full and detailed information on what it is and how to use it.

How to get into Galaxy Nexus FastBoot Mode

1. Turn your galaxy nexus off
2. Unplug usb cable if you have one plugged in
3. Keep holding the 'Volume Up' and 'Volume Down' buttons and press the 'Power' button to boot galaxy nexus into FastBoot Mode

How to get into ClockworkMod Recovery

1. First boot into FastBoot Mode as described above
2. Scroll down with the 'Volume Down' button until it says 'Recovery mode' at the top and press the 'Power' button to enter Recovery

Show the Menu in the Stock Recovery Screen

TuneUp Utilities 2013 

TuneUp Utilities 2013 is touted as your "ultimate PC cleaner, optimizer and troubleshooter." Features include a disk cleaner, browser cleaner, and  "Live Optimization 2.0," for stopping performance-sapping programs. TuneUp also claims improvements in system performance and bootup time. Yet how well does this bundle of PC cleanup utlilities really work? 

Sophisticated and complex equipment like your car or PC requires periodic maintenance. With your car, you need to check the air pressure and tread wear in your tires, replace the oil and various filters, and eventually get a tuneup to make sure the engine is performing correctly.

As you continue to use your laptop or desktop PC, it might also need a tuneup. When you install and uninstall software, pieces of the installation are frequently left behind, including no longer necessary registry entries and shortcuts that now lead to nowhere, for instance.

Even with currently installed applications, unnecessary files may sometime reside on the PC without your knowledge, such as temporary files needed for the installation but not removed after the installation is completed, unrequested additions to your Start menu, and update software which is automatically loaded at system start-up.

These and other problems such as fragmented or useless disk files building up over time can have an impact on your laptop's performance.

One problem with regaining performance through a system cleanup is that it's hard to figure out exactly what needs your attention. There are free and low-cost utilities that examine specific areas of your system, such as the registry, and perform pruning of no longer installed applications. Some hard disk defragmentation is performed automatically in recent versions of Windows, and the defragment tool can also be manually launched. However, few of us have the time, wherewithal or even knowledge to perform a total system inspection and cleanup with these kinds of tools alone. That's the reason behind TuneUp Utilities 2013.

Performance

Testing TuneUp Utilities 2013 on a Lenovo Thinkpad 400s running Windows 7 gave result that TuneUp Utilities 2013 package would be easy to use at various levels of user sophistication. For a novice, the 1-Click Maintenance mode is probably the most reasonable. It runs many of the tests, and it delivers the results in an easy to understand format.

During the test run on a laptop that's had many applications installed and uninstalled over several years, the 1-Click Maintenance run uncovered problems with the registry, broken shortcuts, browser items to clean up, and recommendations to optimize startup and shutdown. Clicking on the individual results brought up a list of exactly what problems were discovered in the scan.

Detailed List of Problems Found

The detail screen presents a list of the problems found. Clicking on the specific problem details what the problem is, and how it will be fixed if the user desires. For example, the detail on registry problems uncovered problems on my PC such as the wave file being absent for the Critical Battery Alarm function entry in the registry. The suggested fix, which I accepted, was to eliminate the registry entry, since it led to a dead end.

Tune-Up Utilities 2013 also gives you a tabbed screen which allows you to select specific areas to analyze. These tabs consist of "Status & recommendations," Optimize computer," "Clean up computer," "Fix problems," and "Customize Windows." At the bottom of the screen are buttons to set PC Optimization mode and Optimization Status.

TuneUp Utilities 2013 PC Optimization mode defaults to Standard. The two other settings are Economy or Turbo. On the right bottom of the screen is the Optimization Status. This shows how deeply you have let TuneUp Utilities 2013 make the recommended changes (or how deeply you have made these changes yourself). In the test, the 1-Click Maintenance found nine problems, five of which were settings I didn't want changed, such as the recommended backup settings. On the summary/main screen, this resulted in a notification of five problems that might affect system health.

TuneUp Utilities 2013 system testing was performed very quickly. From installation to running 1-Click Maintenance took less than ten minutes from start to finish, and 1-Click Maintenance can be configured to run automatically at a specified time or whenever the laptop is booted.

Gains in System Performance & Boot Time

When PCMark 7 is used to test performance before and after running TuneUp Utilities 2013,  the results showed just a small improvement in overall performance. However, benchmark results don't always tell the whole story.

The performance gains that you receive will depend on a number of factors that the analysis of your PC uncovers. These might include how cluttered your laptop is and where that clutter is located. For instance, after running TuneUp Utilities 2013, I recovered several gigabytes of disk space that was taken up with temp files that weren't erased.

Also, an overall system benchmark such as PCMark 7 doesn't measure factors such as improvements in system boot times.

TuneUp Utilities also gives you the ability to choose what processes are launched at startup. Many users think that if there's nothing shown in the Startup tab in the Windows menu, that nothing is being launched when the system is booted. For the great majority of users, that's far from true.

Windows has a built-in capability that lets you disable or enable startup processes. Again, most users won't know where this is, or what to enable or disable.

TuneUp Utilities 2013 claims some remarkable improvements in system performance and boot time. Keep in mind, though, that these improvements were probably realized when systems were finely tuned by users who knew what each of the options does, and how granular to go with the settings.

I didn't get nearly the performance or boot improvements that TuneUp claims, but I did get some. Those improvements were accomplished by using the 1-Click Maintenance button, examining and correcting most of the issues found, and then going tab by tab and doing some tweaking. That's what I would expect the average user to do.

If you have more knowledge about what some of the functions that are able to do, you might well get a higher performance boost than I did.

Also, it could very well be that things that need correcting on your laptop are different than those found by Tuneup Utilities 2013 on mine and that the things needing fixing on your laptop are having a greater effect on performance than those corrected on my test laptop. 

Conclusion


Beyond any improvements in system performance and bootup time, TuneUp Utilities 2013 lets you quickly identify and fix problems in your PC. TuneUp Utilities 2013 locates broken links, remainders of removed applications, and unnecessary registry entries.
